30 Days of Happiness: Day 7

Stories beyond stories. People who live for every single day. Love. Heartbreak. Inspiration at its best. All of these qualities, and many more, are from musicals. These don’t touch everyone, but I personally feel like a lot of them hit people’s feelings. If you sat down and listened to an entire album, say from the 2015 musical, It Shoulda Been You. You could probably relate to it in some way. The struggles the main couple goes through are very relatable in today’s society. All the way from being yourself, finding true love, and getting approved from your parents.

Musicals are definitely not for everyone. People have very different tastes in music, and that’s okay. But when you really connect with a musical, it makes feel almost a little bit better on the inside. If you haven’t I would encourage you to watch/ listen to any musical, whether it’s Broadway, internet, or a movie. It’s something that’ll be worth your while.

I have created a list of some of my favorite musicals, if you are interested in watching or listening to a musical.

    • The Book of Mormon: Funny/Religious
    • The Lion King: Disney/Feel good

  • Hamilton: History/Comedy
  • The Little Mermaid: Disney/Feel good
  • Jersey Boys: Band/Working hard
  • Shoulda Been You: Comedy/LGBT/Feel good
  • The King and I: Feel good
  • Company: Comedy/Relationships
  • Aladdin: Disney/Feel good

There are many, many more out there. You can just search “musicals” and you’ll find tons. You don’t have to do any of this, but I thought I would just share something that makes me happy.
