Sometimes in life, you need to take a step back and look at where you’re at, what you are doing, and why.
In your adventures of growing up, you’ll find that you come across many of these situations. For instance, let’s say you are with a group of friends. They are pretty normal, meaning they never really do any bad things. But one day someone wants to break in a store because why not. Everyone else agrees merely on the fact that this is a once in a lifetime thing to do. You don’t want to do this, but your group of friends say that everything will be alright. You trust them because they’ve never done anything seriously bad before. Later that night you go to the store and when no one is around. They’re about to get in when time stops. Everyone is frozen, except you. You look around yourself and wonder why you’re here. This isn’t who you are and your friends aren’t like this. Then, time unfreezes. They’re about to open the door and that’s when you tell them you don’t want to be apart of this. Because they are your friends, they understand.
Now, these situations aren’t necessarily this serious. It could the way you’re acting in the moment. Most of the time our emotions take over who we really are and that’s what defines us, but if you just take a deep breath and realize what you’re going to say, you may just stop yourself. I’m not saying to not give your opinion or not to speak, but make sure what you’re going to say won’t hurt yourself in the end.
Always make sure to choose happiness.
