30 Days of Thankfulness Day 30: Life

Life is beautiful! There are so many things and I can’t tell you how thankful I am for being alive. I’m 98% sure you know what I mean and I don’t to explain. So here I leave you with something to think about.

“Eleven Hints for Life”

1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.

But what is more painful is to love someone and never

find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who

means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was

never meant to be and you just have to let go.

3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a

porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away

feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had.

4. It’s true that we don’t know what we’ve got until we lose

it, but it’s also true that we don’t know what we’ve been

missing until it arrives.

5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an

hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it

takes a lifetime to forget someone.

6. Don’t go for looks, they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth,

even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you

smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day

seem bright.

7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go,

be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and

one chance to do all the things you want to do.

8. Always put yourself in the other’s shoes. If you feel that it

hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck

a life. A timely word may level stress. But a loving word may

heal and bless.

10. The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best

of everything they just make the most of everything that comes

along their way.

11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with

a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone

around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die,

you’re the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 29: Seeing the Good in Others

I feel I am very lucky to have this in myself. Seeing the good in others can definitely motivate and help others feel better about themselves. It’s true that when someone feels good about themself, they make others happy. It’s my goal in life to make as many people happy as I can, whether that be seeing the good in them and having them recognize that or making them laugh.

There is another side to this though. It can be bad to have a better impression on someone who you do not know. It can lead to difficulty in trusting and may lead to bad situations. So make sure you know your surrounding and where you’re at before you start anything serious.

In the end everything will be fine though, as I’ve always said. Just make sure what you’re doing and with who.

Staying Alive and Living

Staying alive and living are two different things. Most of us grow our entire lives staying alive. Don’t worry, I’ve been doing that too. And it’s okay if you are because we have our mind set on doing the things our parents taught us, when teachers lectured us, what the news tells us. It’s all a never ending loop of what the good things in your life are and how you should achieve them. I grew up with parents who spent their young adult years traveling around the world as journalists. I listened to stories upon stories of all of their adventures. Some were fascinating and courageous, like the time they went to see a volcano erupt. They told me that all of the villagers thought they were crazy, but the next day they made a celebration throughout the whole town just for them. And then some stories are more on the scary and thrilling side, like when they being shot at by a gang. My parents had to run through a city from them and then go into hiding all because my Dad was wearing a blue shirt.

I appreciated how willing my parents were to just go out there and do something different yet exciting. Not many people are willing to do that in this day in age because of how much they hold their life near and dear to their heart. Don’t get me wrong, I am the same, but lately I’ve been wondering what would feel like to let that all disappear into darkness and return later on in my life. I wonder what it feels like to be chased by a gang or to watch a volcano erupt. I want to know what the true meaning of my life is.

Before my parents died, they both told me that it’s okay to be afraid, but it’s much more okay to face your fears and do something gutsy and bold. And that’s what I’m going to do. Last Monday I told my boss that I would no longer be working there after the two weeks notice. I then cancelled any meetings or lunch dates with friends and bought a ticket to Japan. Today is the day I leave, for what I expect, I have no idea. That’s the great thing about letting your worries go, is that you don’t know exactly what you’re getting yourself into, but what you do know is that you’re going to start living your life.

I dare you to to stop staying alive and start living.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 26: Life’s Changes

Life’s beautiful and wonderful changes. What I mean by this is how the changes help you grow into the person you are today. As I said in yesterday’s post, I have been through a lot of different changes, good and bad. I used to always think that change wasn’t the best. I’m like my Dad in that sense. He’s never really taken a liking to changes and I can say that I haven’t either for the most part. Some life changes for me were being more independent, doing new things, and just living a new lifestyle.

All  of these may seem like hardly anything to all of you but for me it was very hard considering of how I grew up.

We all know that life changes can be for the better of for worse. But in the end they always seem to work out. Like I always say, you have to look on the bright side of things no matter what it is.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 25: Disappointment

This is the last of the three top things in life that I’m thankful for that are practically the opposite. Disappointment is something again that no one likes but it is definitely something that we can all learn from. During this past summer, I got a lot more disappointment than I thought I would. They were very hard times and I thought they would never stop coming. In the end though, everything has worked out and is continuing to work out and find it’s place. So far I have moved out to California, I’ve been experiencing new things, getting to see my boyfriend a lot more, and I’ve already published my second book! You could say that I’ve been doing quite a lot recently and I actually like it. Although during the process of getting to those things I have endured my fair share of disappointment, I have come to learning and being grateful that I could have experienced the disappointment. Because I do learn and I know for next time.

A King Finally Finding True Love

As King of the Northern lands, I had everything. Everything that is except someone I love. Most people saw this as me being picky and selfish, but most women who came for me only wanted the riches and luxuries, not for me. So as king, I was going to do something I’ve never done. I was going to go out into the lands disguised as one of the people in search of love. I could only do this for the day though, so all the luck went to me today.

As I made my first steps through the village feeling like everyone else, no one actually noticed who I was. Stopping at the bakery for some sweets first, I was able to do things on my own and that felt nice. What was even better was that No one had to be obligated to treat me with respect, they could be their everyday selves. After the bakery, I was about to head to the town square when I saw a lone woman walking into the forest. It worried me a bit, so I followed her. For a while she was just walking, until she stopped at a pond where many beautiful flowers grew. Still at a distance from her, I watched as she picked some of the flowers. She had more purple than any of the other colors. “Is there a reason for a man to be following me? “ she asked, then turning around to face my direction. I didn’t even know she knew I was following her. I stepped out from behind the tree and towards her. I stopped from the opposite side of the pond.

“Forgive me, my lady. It only worried me to see a woman by herself wonder off into the forest. They are big you know, and you never know who’s out here.”

“It’s not filled with men like you who follow me?” She smiled. I laughed.

“I guess I’m showing the part, aren’t I?”

“I don’t mind company if you would like to stay for a while.” She was so beautiful. Beautiful as a spring morning. I began to pick flowers with her.

“What is your name?”

“Evangeline.” Evangeline.

“That’s a beautiful name.” She blushed.

“And what do they call you?”

“Phillip.”

“Like the King?”

“Yes, just like the King.” I only picked the purple flowers.

“Did your parents name you after him?”

“Yes.” I wasn’t exactly lying because my father’s name was Phillip.

“Must be a name to live up to.”

“It can be at times.”

“I think this is enough,” she said. I put the grouping of purple flowers in her basket.

“If you don’t mind me asking, why are you collecting so many flowers?” I asked.

“I like to give them to the ones who aren’t as fortunate as I am. It seems to brighten up their day and help them go through whatever it is they’re going through.” How selfless of a person.

“May I come with you?”

“You’d want to do that?”

“Of course, it seems like a wonderful idea.” She blushed again. We made our way back to the village talking about stories from our past and just getting to know each other. Soon we began to hand our bunches of the flowers until there were no more. After we went to the Vanic Lagoon. We sat against the trees and talked for hours upon hours. “This was a great day,” I said happily.

“Very unexpected, but great.” I turned to look at her eyes. “You know, you’re very much different from everyone else,” she said looking into my eyes.

“How so?”

“Most men are usually follow a woman into a forest to get what he wants and he always does. Did you get what you came for?”

“If you mean to find a friend, yes I did.”

“We’re friends?” Her smile widened.

“Only if you want to be.”

“I would love that, Philip.” I leaned in, closed my eyes, and my lips met her soft lips, along with the taste of sweetness and the the thought of love.

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 24: A Really Good hug

Hugs are an all time favorite. They are warm, loving, and comforting. All of the things I need in my life. A favorite quote of mine about hugs, “Hugs were invented to let people know you love them without having to say a thing.” That’s something I truly believe and hold dear and near to my heart. My favorite hugs are from my boyfriend. Out of all the hugs, his are the best and give me those feelings every hug should have and he thinks the same.

Sometimes you just need a hug as well. They’re almost like a medicine that you will always need to live on.

There’s not much else I can say and I imagine you know that as well. Always give a hug and if a stranger needs it, give it to them too!

30 Days of Thankfulness Day 23: Movies you can Watch Again… and Again

I LOVE MOVIES. They are something I can always fall back on if I’ve had a bad day or if I need to do something. My movies tastes range from drama, animation, scary, comedy, and even some old movies. I grew up my entire life watching movies as something fun to do. My family always would watch a movie while we had dinner, which lead to us having a million different movies. And as for a family of six, we went out to watch movies at the movie theater for fun.

Here is a list of some of my favorite movies of all time. Like I said before, I like a wide range of movies.

  • The Hunger Games Trilogy
  • The Expendables
  • True Grit
  • The Lion King
  • The Color Purple
  • The Hobbit Trilogy
  • The Silver Lining
  • Cinderella (live action)
  • Pocahontas
  • The Chronicles of Narnia
  • The Magnificent Seven
  • Spirit: Stallion Cimarron
  • Any Marvel movie 🙂
