30 Days of Thankfulness Day 7: Write Freely

Writing has become an immense passion of mine over the past year and I cannot be more thankful than to be able to write freely. I know this can seem lame to others, but some don’t understand that this can’t be done in other parts of the world. I can’t exactly pinpoint other countries or what not, but I know that some people aren’t allowed to write what they feel or what’s in their imagination. It’s sad to think that but it’s true. I don’t think this everyday but when I do, I know how lucky I am to live in such a great country that allows me to pursue my dreams.

I may not be a New York’s best seller, but when I write I get this feeling of escaping reality and going into my own world. My own world where I can be a princess one day and the next I can go into the future and be a leader for a rebellion that could change everything. That’s what I like most about writing and reading. It takes far away from the hurt and troubles and into a place where I can be my true self and not have to worry about a thing. It’s what makes me get up in the morning and think that today is going to be a good day. I may be exaggerating a bit, but you get my drift. It’s like someone who loves to sing. Music takes them away from what’s going on in their life and gives them bliss for a moment. Or for someone who likes to draw. The art they create is wonderful and has absolute meaning to them and I imagine others as well. It speaks to them in a way that makes them know that everything is going to be alright.

Life is a crazy and very unexpected ride, and to be able to do things you love freely makes it a bit more crazy and unexpected. Whether those things are good or bad, know that you should be thankful to freely do those things. It’ll make you see just a tiny more clear in life.
